Loudspeaker spikes are more effective when used in conjunction with Herbie's dBNeutralizer decoupling, especially with wood or suspended floors, whether carpeted or bare. Likewise, if your spikes couple firmly to your cabinet and are themselves solid and relatively free of coloration, they will complement Herbie's Decoupling Gliders very well by easing some of the workload and making the Gliders even more efficient. (Herbie's Cone/Spike Decoupling Gliders are used under your present spikes or cones.)

Features fiberglass-reinforced dBNeutralizer(tm) decoupling base and extra-thick brass, stainless steel or titanium disk. Fitted into Magic Sliders, they can be used on virtually any kind of floor, bare or carpeted, with easy-sliding mobility. Extra-deep conical indentation prevents spike from slipping out when lateral pressure is applied. Suitable for audio racks, stands and loudspeakers of virtually any weight.

Regular: 1-3/8" diameter by 1/2" tall. With speaker load, height from bottom of Glider to bottom of conical indentation is about 5/16" (8mm).

Giant: 2-3/8" wide by .67" tall (conical indentation is .144" deep).

Brass: superb hi-end results with most audio systems (our default recommendation).

Stainless steel: superb hi-end results with most audio systems.

Titanium: best-looking and best-sounding results possible.

The best of the best

Outstanding. Does exactly what it should do by decoupling the speakers in addition to making it very easy to move around the speakers to a designated area. Perfect. B

Easy Gliding

The Herbie Gliders sit under my 225 pound Ulfberhts and 4-10s. Both of which are now easily repositioned or moved for fine tuning or even cleaning. The little things make life easier ... and no doubt these little gliders make easy work of moving massive speakers.

Quality Product

Quality product. These allow me to slide my fifty pound speakers around on the carpeting. It's great for fine tuning speaker location without breaking your back.

Great value

With these gliders I got an excellent “return on investment “. The improvements in sound reproduction were well worth it. Specifically soundstage imaging and definition improved but for me the most welcome improvement was a decrease in mid-bass “bloat” that I was having trouble achieving. Also, regarding service, I inadvertently ordered twice the number of gliders I needed. HAL quickly changed my order and adjusted the cc charge. Highly recommended.

Fabulous tweak!

I recently added Thiel 3.7’s to my audio system. These were a major upgrade from the Thiel 3.5’s that I had been listening to for many years. When I got the speakers into my home, I found that some recordings that I had previously loved sounded muddy using what should have been far more detailed and transparent speakers. Other recordings just sounded lifeless when they previously sounded dynamic. As I researched the problem, I discovered Herbie’s and decided to try their Cone/spike decoupling gliders. I had the Thiels on custom stands with spikes that sat on small metal discs to protect the hardwood floors. Replacing those metal discs with the decouplers solved the problem instantly. All the life was restored in those recordings and the 3.7’s proved to be everything that I bought them for. Not only was the sound more focused but the sound stage was immediately more precise. I could not be happier with this purchase and would recommend them whole heartedly.

Increase in stability and improvement in sound

I have a pair of vintage floor-standing speakers (Alon IV) which came with spikes. Given their weight (115 lbs.) the spikes went through the carpet to the wood floor. They are also difficult to move around. So, I investigated what was available at a moderate price, and I found Herbie’s Audio Lab. The Cone/Spike Decoupling Glider looked like it would solve my problems. Well, they did that and more. The speakers can now be moved easily, but the improved sound of my system is wonderful. It is much smoother and detailed. So, I am pleased to have two benefits from my purchase.

I really haven’t had an opportunity to listen for any sonic improvements but I can say that my speakers don’t slide across my carpet like I had hoped.

Cone/ Spike Decoupling Gliders

I placed the regular gliders under my PMC IB1 speaker spikes which were originally spiked through the carpet. Over the weekend listened to all kinds of music and could not believe how much these gliders changed the sound for the better, detail, separation and bass improvement. I highly recommend these Gliders for the price.

Herbies before all others :)

After the gliders on my towers eliminated 90% of my room rattles, what else would I trust with my equipment. Maybe I should be less positive so the prices will stay too low.

Eureka!

Wow. Let me start by saying I was quite underwhelmed when I saw the delivered package. It was a tiny envelope. I thought these had more heft. I unwrapped them and they were basically the same diameter as any other standard spike disc. Perhaps thicker and having a more unique composition. So I swapped out my old discs right away and took a listen. It sounded AMAZING! So much clarity, realism, excitement. So much in fact that when I started the reference tracks I usually test with... I had no inclination to quickly jump to the next. Just sounds so amazing. To be honest it could easily be that I shot myself in the foot months ago when I placed furniture siders under the original metal discs that came with the speakers. Perhaps I'll do a proper AB test with the old discs at some point if I even think to look back. Sounds so amazing I don't really care what was going on before. The joy I've been missing for so long is back and better than ever. Thanks Herbie's Audio Lab for a fine product!

Great decoupling solution

I put these spike gliders under my Omega Jr Alnico XRS (which already have spikes) and heard immediate improvements - tighter bass, better instrument separation, improved imaging, better detail. I wouldn’t say the glider is adding these things to the speaker, but rather they are allowing the speaker to work properly. Everyone’s experience will be different - if your speaker doesn’t image well in the first place, these won’t improve that. It basically brought out more of the qualities the speaker already did well. The purpose of coupling spikes is to physically couple the speaker to the floor and ground, but if you don’t want to put massive holes in your hardwood, these are probably the best option sonically. I tried a number of options before these both DIY and other retailers (Amazon, etc.) but everything seemed to **** out the sound except for these. Highly recommend!
